Clinical Study of Brain insufficiency
Park Choong-Suh

Abstract
A. Brain Insufficiency
From January to December, 1986, total 58 cases (female 48, male 9) diagnosed as encephalopathy after thorough neurological examinations were analysed.
Third to fifth decades were most commonly affected. EEG showed theta abnormalites most freguent, especially scattered theta and high diffuse theta bursts.
Diertin, polygammalon, sibeliu m, and vincaprol were administered for treatment.
All the patients were improved clinically and discharged mostly on 4th to 9th hospital say.
B. Antiepileptic Therapy for Latent Epilepsy-2
The preliminary of this study was performed last year. The present study is the 2nd line with the same subject. We can summarize the results as follows:
1. Form the beggining of this year till end of October, total 95 cases were diagnosed as latent epilepsy (LE)
2. Even though we promised to take EEG free of charge for those patients, we could follow o ily 35 cases.
3. Among the 35, improved, that is, no more LE, cases were 27. Of the 27, the cases treated ith antiepileptics were 16 and untreated ones 14. EEG improved but still LE cases were 1 in he treated group and 2 in the untreated group. No EEG improvement were 5 cases.
4. In the improved cases, there was no difference in the rapidity of recovery between theta .bunts and spikes.
5. Recovery within I month was 3 times more frequent in the treated group than in the untreated group.
6. However, because the interval of EEG recording was so much varied due to the patients¢¥ unresponsiveness that the above rapidity lacks precision.
